Tomorrow we begin our first official family vacation.
We have made several trips to Joe’s hometown in North Carolina before but this
is our first “new destination” vacation. Hilton Head, South Carolina was chosen
for its short driving distance and great hotel deals. Once Aaron has another
year on him we will make our next holiday to the wonderful Cannon
Beach in Oregon. Currently we do not wish to inflict the agony of a 21-month
old enduring a five hour flight on anyone. We are nice people.
As he grows older we are excited to provide our son
the opportunity to experience other lands. While the smell of sea air is
wonderful, the Rudyard Kipling quote above means a lot to me. The scent of new
lands is an intoxicating one and I look forward to sharing that with our son.
Add “pick up passport application” to my to-do list.
